Cultural Material

“With the Vega Baja being occupied by very different cultures over the course of time, analysis of the physical material that survives, using archaeological methodology, is essential.”
Analysis of the cultural material of the land will be part of a process that will gradually record the different materials and features that remain.

    The Vega Baja has been the subject of detailed study on different occasions. These have shown archaeological remains from the Roman and Visigothic periods.

  • A PROJECT FOR THE FUTURE

    The Vega Baja was declared a Cultural Asset (Bien de Interés Cultural) in the category of Archaeological Site, by decree of the regional government in April 1992. Listing approval cited the existence of archaeological remains from the Roman, Visigothic and Medieval periods.
